EDTA-extractable Ni concentrations in some bulgarian soils

Data are presented on the background EDTA-extractable Ni concentrations in solis of North Bulgaria and Ni concentrations in leaves of sugar beet. Critical concentrations in plants were far below the critical level. EDTA-extractable Ni in all the soils with pH 5.5-8.2 closely correlated with plant Ni and soil pH. EDTA Ni can serve as a main input parameter in the development of a model for micronutrient availability.
