[Dinamic and disponibility of potassium in some soils dedicates at the productions of african palm in the eastern plains of Colombia] | Dinámica y disponibilidad de potasio en algunos suelos dedicados a la producción de palma africana en los llanos orientales de Colombia

In order to Know the dinamic and the availability of potasium, K, in soils dedicated to production of the oil palm, Elaeis guinnensis, in the eastern plains of Colombia, it was studied the relationship between the exchangeableK of the soils extracted by six chemical methods, the mineralogical characteristics, the fractions of K and the restitution capacity-K, with the concentration K in vegetal tissues, represented by the leaf number 17. Two methods of the extraction of the exchangeable K, NaHCO3-EDTA and HCI 0.05N + H2SO4 0.025N, were correlated significatly with the control method, AcONH4 1N, pH: 7,0, in the two seasons and evaluated depths, but they did not show significant diferences when they were used. Three cation activity indexes of soils, PSATK, including AL+H; SatK, including Al and avaliability K index "lK", were correlated significatitly with the exchangeable K and the plant response during the two studied seasons. These results indicated that the potassium expresion in the plant tissue is originated by the concentration in the soil of others exchangeables cations, such as: Ca, Mg, Al and H. About 97 of the total-K found in the soils, was structural-K which was especifically related to the mineral structure of the clay and silt fractions. The high reserves of the structural-K could garantee availability of the nutrient by the plants in a long time; homever, the availability-K is limited during both medium and short time. Only 45 of the total-K not exchangeable was found in the soluble fractions while the remaining-K was found in forms which are very difficult to extrac. The difference between the soluble fraction adn the difficult exchangeable forms of not exchangeable-K was negative in more of the soil plantations. This indicated, a very slow releaserd of K toward exchangeable forms and high protection agains losses due to leaching and harsh weathering processes. The findings could mean that the cemented sesquioxides of Al And Fe are coating the 2:1 phylosilicates, vermiculite, ellite and aluminic vermiculite, wich, were found low quantities by the mineralogical analisys in the clay and sit fractions. About 108,2 kg of K2O/ha., average, was found that soils released from the original exchangeable-K after 155 days of moisture incubatión, It's add the original exchangeable-K garantice teorical in variuos plantations perform with the extraction requeriments, 318 kg f K2O/ha/year for 148 palm in prduction, mentionated for varios authoress, with minimun potassium fertilizers applications only tending to maintain soils sustenace

Para conocer y caracterizar la dinámica y disponibilidad del potasio en suelos del piedemonte llanero Colombiano, cultivados con palma de aceite, Elaeis guinenesis, con edades entre los 7-9 años y en dos estaciones, humedo-seco, se determinó bajo condiciones de laboratorio, la relación entre el K-intercambiable del suelo extraído por seis métodos químicos, las características mineralógicas, el fraccionamiento y la capacidad de restitución con el contenido de K en los tejidos de la hoja 17. Dos métodos de extracción de K-intercambiable en suelos, NaHCO3-Edta y el HVI 0,05N + H2SO4 0,025N, presentaron las mejores correlaciones positivas cuando se compararon contra el método testigo, AcONH4 1N, pH neutro, sin presentar diferencias significativas entre ellos o contra sí mismos al ser evaluados en una u otra estación o profundidad. Tres índices de actividad cationica del suelo, PSATK, incluyendo Al+H, SAtK, incluyendo Al, y el índice de disponibilidad de potasio "lK", correlacionaron positiva y significativamente con el K-intercambiable del suelo y el estraído en los tejidos de la hoja 17, en las dos estaciones evaluadas, dejando evidencia que la actividad del K en el suelo y su expresión en la planta, están íntimamente ligadas y relacionadas con la concentración de otros cationes de cambio, especialmente Ca, Mg y Al. Cerca de un 97 del K-total promedio encontrado en los suelos, correspondió a la fracción estructural, ligado esencialmente a los minerales formadores del suelo, lo cual garantiza altas reservas a largo plazo de este nutriente para las plantas, pero muy limitada disponibilidad en el corto y mediano plazo. Solo un 45 del K-no intercambiabletotal de los suelos en estudio, correspondió a la fracción más soluble, mientras que el restante a formas solubles difícilmente extraibles. La diferencia entre la fracción más soluble y las formas díficilmente extraibles del K-no intercambiable, fue negativa en muchos de los suelos de las plantaciones, indicando por lo tanto una muy lenta reposición hacia formas intercambiables, pero además una muy alta protección contra el intemperismo y la lixiviación de K de esta fracción. Lo anterior muy posiblemente es debido, a las cementaciones de óxidos e hidróxidos de Fe y Al que recubren los filosilicatos tipo 2:1, Vermiculita, lllita y vermiculita con interáminas de aluminio, detectados en muy pequeñas cantidades a través de los análisis mineralógicos realizados a las fracciones arcillas y limos. Bajo condiciones de laboratorio, los suelos después de 155 días de incubación en húmedo restituyeron un promedio de 108,2 kg. de k2O/ha, lo cual sumado al promedio de K-intercambiable originalmente exraído, garantiza teóricamente en varias plantaciones, el cumplir con los requerimientos de extracción, 318 kg. de k2O/ha/año para 148 palmas en producción, tendientes a mantener la sostenibilidad del suelo
