2001
Urban, P. | Vymola, J. (Tekro, Prague (Czech Republic)) | Kosar, K.
The aim of the experiments was to test the effect of feeds without meat meal on the egg production and quality, body weight, feed intake and economic parameters. Laying hens of Hisex Brown hybrid were fed four types of compound feeds with the following particularities: 1. feed with meat meal, 2. extracted soya as the sole protein component, 3. non-traditional plant components, 4. non-traditional components with phytase. Feeding of feeds without meat meal does not alter egg yield and organoleptic quality, but enhances production costs. The use of some non-traditional components is more advantageous than the use of soya as the sole protein component. On the contrary, the use of phytase has no economic effect.
