Induction of hybrid wheat using gametocide Genesis in the Czech Republic

Utilization of chemical hybridizing agents (Cha) enables to produce hybrid seeds of wheat and to overcome a lot of problems associated with exploitation of cytoplasmatic male sterility in wheat. The goal of experiment was to evaluate efficacy of the gametocyte Genesis on selected parental components under climatic and soil conditions of the Czech Republic. The parental components were selected according to morphological characteristics, i.e. plant height and the date of flowering. The efficacy of gametocide Genesis on sterility and hybrid seed set was 99.5 % at the dose of 4.9 kg/ha.
