One of decisive preconditions for economic stabilisation of agriculture is competitiveness of domestic agricultural farms and firms in the food industry in European and world context: The article evaluates possibilities of Policy Analysis Matrix to evaluate competitiveness of agriculture. The matrix enables to assess efficiency of domestic products and policies impacts in comparison witb the situation in world markets and to assess alternative policy scenarios. However its practical application is accompanied by many problematic tasks. It also neither includes many factors which influence competitiveness of agriculture nor enables to determine reasons responsible for possible uncompetitiveness of domestic agricultural producers and industries.
