Chrysomya albiceps: the first forensic case in Central Europe involving this blowfly (Diptera, Calliphoridae)
2002
Povolny, D. (Mendelova Zemedelska a Lesnicka Univ., Brno (Czech Republic). Ustav Zoologie a Vcelarstvi)
The blowfly Chrysomya albiceps was reared from a decaying human body in August 2001. This essentially afrotropical blowfly invades occasionally the plain habitats of Eastern Central Europe from the Mediterranean. This is the first case that this blowfly was involved in a forensic case. This and other circumstances indicate that Chrysomya albiceps starts to be definitely integrated into the insect fauna of Central Europe. The fly and the 3rd instar larva are figured.
