Two years' heavy metal investigation results in natural flesh-fly samples from South Moravia and Lower Austria

Heavy metals (Cd, Pb, Cu, Zn) in flesh-fly samples collected in three habitats of South Moravia and two habitats of Lower Austria were analysed in the years 1999 and 2000. The results show that the content of heavy metals in flesh-flies reflects their environmental presence especially near their sources (Pb near roads, Cd in chemical and industial products, Cu in fungicides). Statistical significance of our results varies, obviously due to imponderable environmental factors. Such and similar investigations complete more exact results obtained in artificial laboratory conditions.
