The influence of NPK, NP, NK and PK fertilizers on the radial growth increment of pine stands on the Vaccinium vitis-idaea site type and the normalisation of growth after the positive influences of the forest fertilization were investigated. The investigations lasted 10-29 years. Ten different stands in 27 variants were cultivated on 71 sample plots. To determine the radial growth, 10,410 timber examples were used. All the combinations of mineral fertilizers used increased the radial growth of the stands during some years. On several sample plots, the decade-long total production of once fertilized middle-aged stands was smaller than in unfertilized stands. The influence of nitrogen was fundamental. After the application of PK, the radial growth increment is small but the long-term production is better than in stands fertilized with nitrogen combinations. The rerecovery of the normal growth increment rate in Scots pine stands is impossible after refertilization with an unsuitable fertilizer or after the application of a large amount of nitrogen for primary fertilization
