Relation of modern nutrient supply and fruit quality in orchards
2002
Papp, J.
Judgement of nutritional status in fruit orchards is the most controversial question in growing practices. Nutrition of fruit trees and bushes means much more than just application of fertilizers. Nutrient management can be considered as being at up-to-date level if it is based on the nutrient requirement of plants and also on soil and leaf analysis. Nowadays the management of nutrition is revaluated because the relation of fertilization and fruit quality is in coming the centre of intrest. The root density of fruit plants is much less than that of the herbaceous ones. Nutrient reserves accumulated in autumn, play important role at the beginning of the vegetation period. The mycorrhizal fungi help the uptake of nutrient elements and water.
