State and prospects of Hungarian greenhouse growing of vegetables in view of the EU accession

During the last ten years deep structural and marketing changes took place in the Hungarian Fruit and Vegetable sector, causing many problems such as disintegrated production, shortage of capital and lack of market transparency. These processes have made a stronger impact on greenhous growing of vegetable. We have good natural and ecological conditions, but these remain just theoretical advantages if we cannot utilize our real values well, for example geothermal energy, and do not pay enough attention to the elimination of the harmful factors and do not implement a national project for development.
