Mutants of agronomic importance detected after irradiation in a carpathian-ukrainian local soybean variety
2001
Hajosne Novak, M. | Korosi, F.
Mutant soybean germplasm was developed from a carpathian-ukrainian local soybean variety using 100-300 Gy chronic gamma irradiation in order to obtain early mutant lines with high oil and/or protein content, and acceptable agronomic performance. Selection for earliness was started in the M2 generation, for oil content and agronomic characteristics (plant height, first pod height, number of pods per plant, number of seeds per plant, 1000-seed weight, yield per plant, harvest index, lodging and shattering) in the M3 generation and for protein content in the M4 generation.
