Field experiments to study the effect of certain insecticides on plant characters, fruit yield and crop losses due to pest complex in okra were carried out under protected conditions. Results showed that treatments with disulfoton 1 kg a.e./ha + carbaryl 0.2 per cent and carbofuran 5 per cent seed treatment + monocrotophos 0.04 per sent 40, 50, 60, and 70 days after germination gave good protection from jassid aphid and fruit borer damage and resulted in significant increase of plant height, leaf number, leaf area, leaf weight, stem weight, fruit number, fruit length, fruit girth and marketable fruit yield of the crop. The avoidable losses in unprotected okra were 74.08, 46.25, 61.37, 60.80, 59.93, 50.77, 4.70, 32.29 abd 86.00 per cent respectively.
