Evaluation of different micro-irrigation systems for summer groundnut
2000
Firake, N.N. | Shinde, S.H. (Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri (India)).
The experiment was conducted to evaluate different micro-irrigation systems viz. drip, circotube, micro-sprinkler and subsurfacedrip in summer groundnut in respect of yields attributes, yields, water requirement and water use efficiency. It was observed that the micro-sprinkler irrigation system was superior over other in respect of dry pod (32.53 q/ha), kernel (22.73 q/ha), haulm (43.68 q/ha) yields. The seasonal water requirement of summer groundnut was 68.52 cm in micro-irrigation systems and 95.05 cm in border irrigation. indicating 27.91 per cent water saving. The water use efficiency was also found maximum (4.75 kg/ha-mm) in micro-sprinkler system. Thus, the micro-sprinkler system was found suitable in obtaining maximum yields of summer groudnnut.
