Studies on soil application of sulphur sources in tea cultivation were carried out under North East Indian condition. Among nine different sources of sulphur, gypsum recorded highest yield, which was closely followed by ammonium sulphate. Sulphur application did not show significant effect on shoot (Two leaf and a bud) N,P,K content. Shoot sulphur content showed significant variation. Theaflavin, thearubigin, brightness, total colour and quality of black tea were found to be improved, whereas caffeine content showed significant variation.
