A field experiment was conduced during Kharif 1994 to 1996 to study the effect of Subabul green manuring alone and in combination with urea on the grain yield of dryland maize. 25 per cent nitrogen through Subabul green leaves plus 25 per cent nitrogen through urea as basal and fifty per cent nitrogen through urea as basal and fifty per cent nitrogen through urea as top dressing recorded significantly the highest grain yield of maize as compared to the control. Twenty five per cent nitrogen through Subabul green leaves as basal plus 75 per cent nitrogen through urea as top dressing and 50 per cent nitrogen through Subabul green leaves as basal plus 50 per cent nitrogen through urea as top dressing also proved equally effective in increasing the grain yield of maize as compared to control.
