The results of three years (1994-95 to 1996-97) field experiment on potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) revealed that highest tuber yield and number of large size ( 100gms) potato tubers were produced from 3rd week of November followed by 1st week of December and 3rd week of December planting. The weight of small size (0-50 g) tubers was significantly lowest in D1 followed by D3 and D2 planting. Number of medium size (51-100 g) potato tubers were significantly higher in K. Badshah as compared to K. Lauvkar. In view of tuber yield and its quality, D1 was found to be the superior planting date for middle Gujarat agro-climatic region.
