Wheat varietal improvement works for high altitude of Nepal

Hybridization, growing of different generation nurseries, advanced lines (International) observation nursery were the breeding activities of Agriculture Botany Division, Khumaltar and of other sites of the high hills viz., Agriculture Research Station, Bijayanagar and Sheep and Goat Research Farm, Guthichour, Jumla. A number of crosses were made by simple and top cross methods. Superior genotypes were selected from the different nurseries. In Micro Plot Yield Trial of Jumla, YU MAI 30 was found second highest yield was advanced from 8th FAWWON. Plant height has highly significant positive correlation with test weight. Test weight has highly significant positive correlation with grain yield at p0.000 levels
