This proposed paper aims at representing LE [land evaluation] and FSA [farming systems analysis] an integrated approach in the selection and description of land uses or production systems that are relevant to small farmers on marginal lands. In this approach, FSA identifies and prioritizes production systems that are appropriate in sustaining development of the land, and serves as basis in formulating farm management strategies and conservation efforts. On the other hand, LE validates the suitability of each production systems, and allows comparison between actual and potential uses. The very diverse and complex processes involved in FSA and LE are facilitated through a geographic information system (GIS). Using the spatial modeling capabilities of GIS, spatial decision models of production systems are generated. These models assign the proper production system to each land unit on the basis of biophysical suitability (e.g. land-interaction). The use of satellite data, aerial photographs, maps, GPS, and related surveys was exploited to characterize the land/physical resources of the study area
