Effect of N, P and K fertilizers on seed production of okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L. Monech) cv. Pusa sawani

Different combinations of NPK were applied to okra cv. Pusa Sawani. All the P and K and half of the N were applied at the time of sowing while the rest of N was applied 30 days after sowing the crops as a top dressing. The highest seed yields were obtained with 140 kg N + 100 kg P2O5 + and 60 kg K2O ha. Although number of fruits per plant, length of mature fruit and number of seeds per fruit were highest with the highest rate of fertilizer application yet 1000-seed weight was not affected by the fertilizer application.
