These studies were carried Ol/t at the Horticultural Research Station, Soan Valley, Nowshera, Khushab during 1996-1999 to see the effect of various time of sowing on germination percentage and number of days to germinate to almost seed. Maximum germination (72.33) was noted in the almond seed sown on 15th November and the lowest germination strength was recorded in the seed sown on 15th January (46.67%) among tested treatments. Least number of days taken to germinate was recorded in the 1st and 15th January treatments followed by 15th December with means of 52.00, 57.33 and 58.33 days respectively during 1996-97. Almost similar trend was noted during 1997-98 and 1998-99 on the basis of over all performance, 15th November is recommended as the most suitable sowing time for almond seed under Soan Valley climatic conditions.
