A view on potassium - in term of fertilisation, balance and soil supply in Slovakia

The strong reduction of potassium fertiliser consumption since 1992 has caused the lower yield of grown plants, the decrease of available forms of potassium content in the soils and negative simple potassium balance in agricultural soils in Slovakia. All mentioned facts lead to the large losses. In financial expression it is more than 25 million USD annually. The losses could be relatively significantly reduced by increase of fertiliser consumption (in both mineral and organic forms) and by effective measurements against water erosion, too
