Aerosol disinfection is used to disinfect animal housings, particularly in relation to aerogenic infections. The aerosols have been produced either by means of equipment, the aerosol generators, or by the apparatus-free method, the so-called exothermic reaction. Of the disinfectant preparations used in animal production, aerosols are most frequently prepared from formalin which allows us to use either one of the described methods. The use of Persteril in practical aerosol disinfection is limited. This is partially caused by the fact that Persteril aerosols cannot be produced by aerosol generators due to its explosive properties. The paper presents results of disinfection with aerosol of Persteril using the apparatus-free method for aerosol generation and compares the disinfection effects with those of formalin
