In present day, database systems are used frequently. However, the integration of text and image date for efficient retrieval is a new topic for research and development. This paper shows a research work of map retrieval by Semantic Functions which are especially appropriate for image database. These functions are Semantic Zooming, Panning, Overlaying and Filtering. The system includes an argumented Graphic Filtering Function and also includes conventional graphic functions as well as text query. The interface is based on interactive menus instead of commands. The display of map is composite forms of logical and physical image data, which their relations are designed for effective retrieval.
