Effects of filter cake and chemical fertilizer on sugarcane production was conducted in 1993/1994 in the farmer's field at Udonthani and Chaiyapoom. Sugarcane cv. F 154 and K 84-200 were grown under Loamy Sand and Sandy Clay Loam Soils respectively. The objectives were to study the response of sugarcane to filter cake and fertilizer applications. A 3x3x3 Factorial in RCB with 3 replications was employed having the combination of 1.) 3 rates of filter cake: 0, 3 and 6 ton/rai, 2.) 3 rates of fertilizer (15-15-15): 0, 50 and 100 kg/rai and 3.) Times of fertilizer application: all rates at planting, half rate at planting and remains after planting 4-5 months and all rates after planting 4-5 months. The results showed increasing rates of filter cake and fertilizer, increased yield of sugarcane an total sugar at both locations. CCS content at Udonthani increased with fertilizer application. Times of fertilizer application have no significant effect on all parameters. Interaction of filter cake and fertilizer rates showed significant effect on the yield of sugarcane and sugar content.
