Three strains of Chlorella were selected and N-8 medium was used to medium optimization. Potassiumnitrate glycine and urea were used as nitrogen source and the culture were cultivated with the light intensity of 400,1400, 2400 lux. Cell growth of all the cultures was determined every 24 h by cell dry weight, total cell count and absorbence at 500 mm. For 15 dyas. The maximum growth was obtained from Chlorella strain No.1 with 1.7 g/l cell dry weight, 13.9x10*[6) cells/ml and 1.6 absorbence density.
