[Bees' bread (Ambrosia)]

The bee bread (that is ambrosia) is characterized as an important component of the bee's family feeding. A great advantage of the bee bread over bee pollen according to the content of biologically active compounds is described. Ambrosia production in honeycombs, the four phases of its fermentation and term of readiness are elucidated. The ambrosia value lies in the availability in it of all the indispensable aminoacids necessary for human organism. More than 20 chemical nutrients were detected in its mineral composition. It is pointed out that it plays an important role in the bees' life. As to its microbiological composition, bee bread has no analogues that could restore digestion in a short time. In the absense of ambrosia bees glands producing wax and royal jelly stop functioning
