Mong Cai is a local breed. Farmers in the North and Central parts of Vietnam often use local feed resources for feeding them with poorly nutrient content in the diet (special poor protein and energy). Consequently Mong Cai sows is low reproductive performance. So the author has been carrying out project: "The effect of protein levels on the reproductive performance of Mong Cai sows kept in Trieu Hai State farm". Twenty four Mong Cai sows was selected and devided into 4 treatments with 4 levels of protein content in the diet: In pregnacy period: 8, 10, 12 and 14 percent of CP; and lactation period: 10, 12, 14 and 16 percent of CP. Result shows that best of treatment 3 with 12 percent of CP in the Pregnancy period and 14 percent of CP in the Lactation period: Mong Cai sows have good reproductive performance. We suggest that 12 percent of CP in the diet of pregnancy sows and 14 percent of CP in the diet of Lactation sows is suitable for Mong Cai sows
