The study is dealing with the possibility of use of cholecalciferol as rodenticide. In the study detailed laboratory tests and field trials were conducted during long period. The baits formulations were as follows: seeds, pellets and wax blocks. Laboratory and field results confirm the fact that cholecalciferol can be used successfully for rodent control. Unsatisfactory results were obtained in testing the toxic-lethal effect of wax blocks: the mean days to death in laboratory rats was delayed comparing with the results obtained using pellets. In contrast to the results of some authors the palatability and the toxic-lethal effect of the active substance remain on satisfactory level during a long period of time.
