Effect of glyceride oils on the levorin biosynthesis by Streptomyces levoris 99/23

Influence of eight different glyceride oils on the levorin biosynthesis by Streptomyces levoris 99/23 was investigated. The highest concentration of antibiotic and biomass was obtained when using olive, apricot and sunflower oil (oleic type). Appropriate component of the nutrition medium for levorin biosynthesis by S. levoris 99/23 is sunflower oil (oleic type) at concentration of 1% (v/v). Maximum antibiotic activity was obtained at 120 h of cultivation which correspond to stationary phase.
