Pecularities of the veterinary approach in aquarium fish cultures

Possibilities of control and treatment of aquarium fish diseases in intensive fish cultures are demonstrated on the example of Symphysodon spp. infected by Sciadicleithrum variabilum. After treatment by Neguvon the prevalence which was 100 % decreased to 83 % in 24 hours and to 40 % in 48 hours. The animals were infected also by other pathogens and commensals with the pravalence varying from 30 to 100 %. The mortality between 24 and 48 hours after application of Neguvon was 38 out of 65 specimens. Disease control measures are discussed in detail.
