This study was focused on the improvement of thermooxidative stability of biodegradable hydraulic oils of the HETG type. Three types of improved nonesterified oil samples (NAPRO 9901, NAPRO 2001, NAPRO 2002) were tested in a test block with two ALBOX Alfa 63/100 gearboxes up to 2,100 service hours. Moisture content, viscosity, acid number, and peroxide number were determined and compared with those obtained using a BIOMIL PR oil methylester. The peroxide number was the best variable characterizing the thermooxidative stability. The tested deep-frying oils characterized by a short-term thermal stress appeared to be suitable and their thermooxidative stability improved.
