According to the two years lasted field experiment it was concluded from the results: In dry growing season the nutrient balance was positive in low nitrogen rate(40...60 kg nitrogen per hectare). In rainy growing season the optomum rate was 80 kg nitrogen per hectare. In dry season the content of nitrogen and therefore the content of protein in grains was higher than in rainy season. For cultivation of spring barley 'Anni' produced for beer production the nitrogen rate over than 50...60 kg per ha does not recommended
