Ensiling of lucerne and lucerne-grass mixtures

The results indicated that crude protein concentration and dry matter yield of lucerne crop were dependent on the sort of lucerne, O, K fertilizer and the mixture. American lucerne "WL 252 HQ" was somewhat more effective comparing to the local sort. The silage fermentation quality was dependent on the use of additives, the sort of lucerne and the mixture. The best silage quality was obtained when pure american lucerne "WL 252 HQ" was ensiled. However, the reason of that remained obscure because of ensilability parameters was not determined. Appeared interaction effects when using different additives, lucerne sorts and lucerne- grass mixtures. Ensiling lucerne and their mixtures need further investigations
