Small pepper farming (Case study at Wedomartani Region, Ngemplak District, Sleman Regency (Indonesia))

Farmer usually plant a small pepper (Cabai Rawit) on dry season, but in Wedomartani Village they often plant it on rainy season. So that case is very interesting to do a research, to describes: (1) farmer's reason planting it on rainy season, (2) product, cost, income and profit of a small pepper farm, and (3) usage of production factors. The study was used by analyzing twenty farmers planting a small pepper on rainy season showed that: (1) They plant a small pepper on rainy season because they expect a higher price of product, spend their times and labors, and some farmers have been often planting it on rainy season. (2) Planting a small pepper on rainy season gives a higher product, income and profit than on dry season, but it needs higher cost than on dry season. (3) Farmers can take a higher profit by add seed, TSP and ZA fertilizers, and Furadan, and decrease KCl and Urea fertilizers, Diazinon, Antracol and labors
