Three experiments were conducted during 1997-1998 in Deir-Alla station in the Central Jordan Valley to study the response of some onion cultivars to Thrips tabaci, to monitor its flight activity and to determine its economic threshold. . Onion thrips is a worldwide distributed pest with a wide plant host range. It is considered as an important pest on Amaryllidaceae especially onion, garlic and leek. Onion cultivars tested showed no resistance to this thrips, but Rio Colorado hybrid and Texas early grano 502 were less preferable to onion thrips infestation. Aragon and RS 209 were highly preferable
