Field trials were organized in Study and Research Farm "Vecauce" during 1998 to 2001. The effect of soil tillage and sowing techniques on grain yield and yield structure elements of spring barley were studied on sod - podzolic loamy high cultivated soils with high potassium and phosphorus content. The goal of research was to define the correlation between seedbed preparation technologies and parameters of grain yield, using statistical methods. It is ascertained that grain yield was significantly lower in autumn ploughing variant in comparison with spring soil tillage variants during all trials in total. Soil pacomat used in seedbed preparation in cold spring with frost could significantly increase grain yield of spring barley. The sowing without soil reversing with combine aggregate Amazone or disk seeder Rapid gave similar grain yields in spring ploughing variants.
