It is possible to predicate that all changes and reforms, which take place in our country, are concerted with the integration of Latvia into EU. According to this fact one often speaks about the competitiveness of regions. The competitiveness - is an economic conception, which is used characterizing goods, a service or a subject of market relations (the actuality of this conception has appeared together with market economy). Basing on the economic interpretation of this conception, it can be concluded that the competitiveness of a region is the ability of the region to present itself on the world market alike other attendant regions. The most important aspects of the competitiveness of a region are political and economical.
