Relative efficiency of potassium source for wheat production
2002
Ranjha, A.M. | Sultan, T. (University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (Pakistan)) | Mehdi, S.M. | Iqbal, M.
Field experiments were conducted on wheat to study the relative efficiency of potassium sources. Potassium was applied at a rate of 100 kg ha-1 in the 1st experiment and 100, 200 and 300 kg ha-1 in the second experiment from Muriate of potash (MOP) as well as from Sulphate of Potash (SOP). Potassium application from both sources had a non- significant effect on number of tillers m-2, grain yield and straw yield. Similarly N, P and S contents were not effected in grain and straw but K concentration was significantly increased at higher rate of K application. Chloride concentration increased in wheat grain and straw by applying K only as MOP.
