Ranjha, A.M. (University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (Pakistan)) | Mehdi, S.M. | Saifullah
A pot experiment was conducted to study the effect of chloride on wheat. The chloride levels applied were 0, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900 and 1000 mg kg-1 soil. The results showed that number of tillers pot-1, grain and straw yield increased with increasing C1 rates up to 600 mg kg-1 of soil and then decreased. There was no effect of C1 application on N, P and K contents in grain and straw of wheat crop. Chloride contents were increased by C1 application and maximum C1 concentration was found at tillering followed by spike formation stage, while least at maturity, when we compared the C1 concentration at different stages.
