The present studies were conducted in the experimental area of Oilseed Programme, National Agricultural Research Centre, Islamabad during autumn 1999. The highest white-fly (Bemisia tabaci) population was recorded on the variety Parsun-1536 (V11 and was followed by XF-6451 (V10) and SMH-9907 (V8). These were significantly different from all other varieties except Hysun-33 (V7). The lowest white-fly population was recorded on CRM-1435 (V9), which differed significantly from all other varieties except XF-4623 (V3). The white-fly population declined in the last week of September and 1st week of October due to heavy rainfalls. It showed that the heavy rains considerably reduced the white-fly population. The overall white-fly population in October remained low on all the varieties as compared to September.
