At the UMCS Botanical Garden in Lublin 15 ecotypes of chewings fescue were examined. The following factors were studied: length, widith and thickness of leaf blades on vegetative sprouts; number of ribs on top area of leaf lamina; the length of floss; the size and number of the vascular bundles. High variation coefficient was stated for the length of leaf lamina; floss at upper peel of the leaf and no variation of size. The number of vascular bundles was a variable feature connected with the number of hinges. On the basis of the research it was stated that the leaf laminas of investigated ecotypes were characterized by relatively large variation of the examined features, but the leaf laminas of all ecotypes were characterized by a xerothermic structure. Chosen ecotypes presented relatively diversified material that could be used to breeding new plant strains
