Effect of pea seeds added to complete feed for pigs on fattening results

It was found that partial replacement of soybean meal with pea seeds (cv. Mazurek) had a beneficial effect on the body weight gains of pigs over the whole fattening period. An increased pea content of mixtures (40-45 percent) turned out to be positive when combined with enzyme supplementation in the form of the preparation Energex. The experimental feed mixtures had no influence on selected slaughter traits. A higher level of monounsaturated fatty acids was observed in back fat of carcasses of experimental animals receiving mixtures with an increased pea amount
