Chemical characteristics of leaves of male and female forms of nettle (Urtica dioica L.)

The results revealed differences between male and female form of nettle with respects to content in leaves assimilate pigments, flavonols and polyphenolic acids. In vegetative stage of plant development the content of chlorophylls and carotenoids was markedly higher in female form and in full blooming stage in the male form. The content of phenolic compounds (flavonols and polyphenolic acids) was statistically higher in male form
