Heavy metal contents of soil and meadow-pasture sward in areas adjacent to Kraskow - Kielce of E-7 expressway
2001
Puchala, J. (Akademia Rolnicza, Krakow (Poland). Katedra Socjologii i Rozwoju Wsi)
It was shown that the lead and cadmium contents of soil vary depending on the distance from the roadway. Only one sample of sward had an increased cadmium content. Soil samples were polluted with lead to a moderate or small degree. The lead pollution is a result of the ambient concentration of this metal in the period 1945-90. Although at present the sales of leaded petrol containing lead compounds as antiknock substances are low, lead persists in the soil due to its specific chemical properties. It was suggested that the use of pastures located in the immediate vicinity of the roadway should be discontinued
