Two carrot cultivars Joba and Flacoro was studied. The highest marketable and total yields of carrots were harvested in the year which had an optimal amount and distribution of precipitation during the vegetative season of plants. The highest total and marketable yields of carrot storage roots were obtained on medium and heavy soils, and the lowest on a light soil. Flacoro yielded better than Joba, the later, however, was characterized by an increased proprotion of marketable yield in total yield
