Three cultivation systems were evaluated in a specific experiment conducted during 1997-99 for their influence upon the mass of harvest residues and humus content in medium soil. It was shown that the largest mass of organic residues was left after field peas and the smallest by spring barley. Among the compared cultivation systems, direct sowing stood out securing the significantly largest mass of field peas and winter wheat harvest residues, better than traditional tillage and no-tillage systems and spring barley
