Yield and grain quality of some Polish and foreign varieties and lines of hard wheat (Triticum durum Desf.)

Determination of yield variability, yield structure and grain quality of some Polish and foreign cultivars and lines of hard wheat (Triticum durum) in comparison with common wheat (Triticum aestivum sp. vulgare) was the aim of the study. The foreign cultivars were characterized by significant differentiation of plant height, lodging, grain number per ear and weight of 1000 grains as well as small weight of grains per ear. Grain quality of Polish cultivars meets grain standards for pasta production and doesn't essentially differ from foreign cultivars
