Effects of nitrogen and potassium fertilization on yield and quality of Italian ryegrass grown on arable land. Pt. 1. Yield and content of some nitrogen forms

Czapla, J. (University of Warmia and Mazury, Olsztyn (Poland). Chair of Agricultural Chemistry)
A two-year field study on the very good rye complex soil was carried out. The experiment found that a dose of 240 kg N/ha was optimum for the first year and 180 kg N/ha in the second year of nitrogen application. The application of potassium at the level over 100 kg K/ha was ineffective. A very high effectiveness of 1 kg of nitrogen and a high coefficient of nitrogen utilization from fertilizer were obtained. The applied fertilization did not have a negative influence on the fodder quality in respect to harmful nitrogen compounds
