2000
Kukulczanka, K. | Kromer, K. (Ogrod Botaniczny Uniwersytetu Wroclawskiego, Wroclaw (Poland))
Studies carried out, since 1970, in the Plant Tissue Culture Laboratory of the Botanical Garden of the Wroclaw University have been concentrated on problems connected with plant regeneration in tissue culture conditions. Exotic orchids (Cymbidium, Cattleya, Dendrobium, Phalaenopsis) had priority in these studies for several years. A method of meryclonal propagation elaborated for exotic orchids was introduced to agricultural production of these plants. Studies undertaken on regeneration of ornamental bulbous and rhizome plants from 4 families showed high regenerative potential of species from Liliaceae and Araceae and lower in species belonging to Amaryllidaceae and Iridaceae. Complex studies on growth and regeneration of bromeliads and carnivorous plants (Drosera, Dionaea muscipula) were also carried out
