Effect of DIF and nutrient solution concentration on growth of Magnolia x soulangeana
2000
Bielenin, M. (Instytut Sadownictwa i Kwiaciarstwa, Skierniewice (Poland) | Joustra, M.K.
Young plants of Magnolia x soulangeana were grown under negative or positive DIF regimes with two concentrations of nutrient solution (EC=0.8 or 1.6 mS/cm). Magnolia exposed to warm nights and cool days grew slower than under positive DIF treatment but root growth was not influenced. The plants architecture was not altered significantly except for shorter internodes at the base of main shoot under negative DIF treatment. Use of nutrient solution with EC=0.8 or 1.6 mS/cm resulted in decreased height of plants but did not affect the lenght of internodes
